Pest Control Pricing in Ontario: What You'll Actually Pay in 2025
By Jitendra Patel, Licensed Technician · Sterex Pest Control · Last reviewed: June 2025
Most pest control jobs in Ontario run $150–$450 for residential treatments. What you pay depends on pest type, how bad the infestation is, property size, and how many visits are included.
All prices on this page are from Sterex Pest Control — a licensed, Brampton-based company serving the GTA since 2021. Prices are before HST (13%).

2-visit bed bug package
Sterex only sells bed bug treatment as a steam-plus-spray package over a roughly 6-week window — not a single visit — because that combination is what reliably clears an infestation.

About Sterex warranties
Sterex warranties apply when prep is completed, technician recommendations are followed, and structural entry points are addressed. We cannot warranty mice treatment if a garage-door gap or similar opening keeps letting rodents in — the bait will not outpace an open entry point.

What Affects Your Pest Control Quote
Infestation Severity
Light activity means the pest is present but contained — one or two cockroaches in a kitchen, a small ant trail near a door. Medium activity means consistent sightings, wider spread, or early signs of damage. Severe activity means the pest is established, breeding, and requires more product and more visits to clear.
With cockroaches, severe activity triggers a mandatory second treatment (+$150). This is quoted upfront — not added on the day of service. With bed bugs, two treatments are always included as a package; eggs surviving the first application is the most common cause of re-infestation, so single-visit bed bug service is not something we offer.
Property Size
Larger homes require more product and more time on-site. Here is how size affects two common services:
| Home Type | General Spray | Mice Treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Townhome / condo (<1,500 sqft) | $250 | $200 |
| 3-bedroom (~2,000 sqft) | $250 | $250 |
| 4-bedroom (~3,000 sqft) | $350 | $300 |
| Large home (3,500+ sqft) | $650 | +$50 |
Access and Height (Wasps and Wildlife)
Height adds cost. Wasp nests at or below 9 feet start at $175 with nest removal included — complications or difficult access may increase the quote. Anything above 9 feet requires ladder setup, safety equipment, and more time on-site at $250+.
| Situation | Price Impact | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Wasp nest up to 9 ft | From $175 | Standard reach; complications may increase |
| Wasp nest above 9 ft (eaves, roofline) | From $250 | Ladder + safety equipment, more time |
| Squirrel / raccoon — single entry point | Base rate | Standard exclusion work |
| Multiple entry points | +$100/repair | Each additional damaged area or gap |
| Baby animal present in attic | +$150–$200 | More care, more time, different equipment |
| Roof vent covers | $55–$65/vent | Material + labour, volume discount at 5+ and 10+ vents |
Number of Kitchens (Cockroach)
For cockroach treatments, each kitchen is a separate treatment zone. The base price of $250 covers one kitchen and common areas in a standard home. Each additional kitchen — in a duplex, multi-unit residential, or commercial space — adds $150. This applies to both residential multi-unit buildings and restaurant work.
Pest Type and Biology
Bed bugs cost more than ants because the work is more labour-intensive — steaming, residual spray, dusting, furniture access, preparation checks, and a mandatory second visit. Carpenter Carpenter ants cost more than pavement ants ($350 vs. $150–$250) because they are inside the wood structure, not just foraging at the surface. Reaching an active carpenter ant nest requires more targeted work than a perimeter bait treatment.
Location and Travel
Standard rates apply across our core service area: Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto, Vaughan, Markham, and Richmond Hill. Jobs outside this area may carry a travel surcharge — we confirm this on the call. Most GTA residents will see no additional charge.
Annual Plans vs. One-Off Treatments — Which Is Worth It?
| Package | Price | Visits | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| HomeGuard Annual | $799/yr or $225/qtr | 4 seasonal | Homeowners who want year-round coverage and don’t want to call every time |
| Summer Ant Protection | $499 | 2 | Homes that get ants every summer |
| Fall & Winter Mice | $279 | 3 | Homeowners dealing with mice as the cold hits |
| Season | What HomeGuard includes | Standalone value |
|---|---|---|
| Spring | Interior + exterior spray + ant bait stations | ~$475 standalone value ($325 spray + $150 bait stations) |
| Summer | Interior + exterior re-spray + 1 wasp nest removal | ~$500 standalone value ($325 spray + $175 wasp) |
| Fall | Mice exclusion, bait setup, interior common-area baseboard spray | $350+ standalone value |
| Winter | Mice bait-station check and refill | $150+ standalone value |
HomeGuard vs. booking each season separately
If you booked every bundled service on its own — spring spray plus ant bait stations, summer re-spray plus wasp removal, fall mice exclusion plus interior baseboard spray, and winter bait-station service — you would exceed $1,200 in standalone visits. HomeGuard at $799/year bundles all four seasons for less. Think of it like a landscaper or gardener contract: year-round protection so general crawling insects do not become emergency call-outs.
Compare plans on the shop page — Summer Ant Protection ($499), Fall & Winter Mice ($279), and HomeGuard annual coverage.

Wildlife Removal Costs in Ontario
Wildlife jobs are one-off and high-ticket. No recurring contract — just quality exclusion work that is designed to actually fix the problem.
Core Services
| Animal | Base Price | What’s Included |
|---|---|---|
| Raccoon removal | $450 | Removal + basic entry point sealing |
| Squirrel removal | $350 | Removal + basic entry point sealing |
| Bird removal | $300 | Removal + basic entry point sealing |
Add-Ons
| Add-On | Applies When | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Baby raccoon removal | Mother with young detected | +$200 |
| Baby squirrel removal | Mother with young detected | +$150 |
| Extra damage repair | Each additional breach point | +$100/repair |
| Roof vent covers (1–4 vents) | After any wildlife job | $65/vent |
| Roof vent covers (5–9 vents) | Volume discount | $60/vent |
| Roof vent covers (10+ vents) | Volume discount | $55/vent |
| Bird vent covers | Bird exclusion | $50/vent |
Wildlife pricing scales with complexity. A raccoon that found an opening yesterday is a different job from one that has been living in an attic for months with multiple entry points and structural damage. If babies are present, that adds time, care, and different equipment. Every wildlife job is field-assessed — we flag anything that affects the quote before we start work.
Want to try DIY first? We sell raccoon deterrent spray, live trap rentals, and squirrel one-way doors directly — no technician required for light situations.
How Sterex Prices Compare to Other Ontario Pest Control Companies
Most pest control companies in Ontario don’t publish their prices. You call, get a “free inspection” scheduled, and wait for a quote that may or may not arrive same day. Sterex publishes real numbers — because knowing what you’ll pay before you call is a reasonable expectation, not a luxury.
| Company | Pricing Model | Typical Range | Transparency | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sterex Pest Control | Published pricing | $150–$650 residential | High | Prices on this page. Quote on the call. |
| Orkin Canada | Custom quote only | ~$150–$600+ one-time; annual ~$500–$1,000 | Low | Inspection fee ~$100–$150. No prices published on site. Large national chain. |
| Terminix Canada | Custom quote only | ~$100–$500 one-time; annual ~$500–$800 | Low | Free inspection offered. Pricing disclosed only after assessment. |
| Pestend (Toronto) | Free estimate only | Not published | Low | Claims price-match guarantee. No rates on website. |
| GTA Average (HomeStars) | Varies by provider | ~$617 avg in Toronto (wide variance) | — | Aggregate across all reviewed pest control providers. |
Sterex sits at a competitive mid-market price point — below what the national chains tend to run by most third-party estimates, with owner-operated responsiveness and published pricing. We are not the cheapest option in the GTA, and you would not want the cheapest when it comes to pest control. But we publish what we charge, give you a price on the phone in most cases, and do not make you wait for a sales rep to follow up.
